Ames
Ames has a population of more than 50,000, which includes ISU students.

The dining options vary from barbeque to Mexican to steak DeBurgo. Shopping districts abound. Ames classic Main Street is full of shops and services in downtown Ames. Campustown has unique dining and shopping options. North Grand Mall is big enough to meet your needs, but small enough to get in and out of conveniently. Restaurants and more shopping outlets line South Duff Avenue.

Iowa State University
Iowa State University officially opened in 1869. The fall 2001 enrollment was 23,460 undergraduate students and 4,363 graduate students. Iowa State has 58 academic departments in 9 colleges.

Getting Here
Centrally located in the Midwest and Iowa, Ames is easily accessed by Interstates 35 and 80. The Des Moines International Airport, located 40 minutes south of Ames, is served by several major commercial airlines. The Ames Municipal Airport receives small aircraft, including corporate jets.
