Recap After a tough loss to Penn State, ISU tried to bounce back in the 7th place game vs. a tired Weber State, who battled Ohio to a 2-1 double OT loss the night before. ISU jumped out to an early 3-1 lead going into the 3rd. The third period wouldn't be as good for the Clones, as Weber St Scored 4 unanswered goals to win the game 5-3. In the 5th Place game, Illinois skated against Michigan-Dearborn in a fast clean hockey game. Illinois had most of the pressure in this game as the scoreboard showed. Tim Danlow played in his last game and letting in one goal, and Zabrin scored in his final game as an Illini. In a game to determine who would make it to the finals for the 2004 ACHA National Champions, Ohio topped Rhode Island by a score of 2-0. The difference in this game had to be Ohio's goaltender Gallagher, who turned away 21 shots for the shut out. In the final game of the day, Penn State faced off against Minot, and just like the rest of the games in the tournament Penn State again proved they were the number 1 seed as the easily handed the defeat to Minot 9-1 |
