Several field trips will be available to attendees during the conference. Below are some of the great locations participants can visit while on a conference tour!

John Deere--Cotton in the Corn Belt
See how cotton harvesting machinery is manufactured in the heart of the Corn Belt. John Deere Des Moines Works is located at a former World War II army ammunition plant in Ankeny. Retired employees conduct a 1.5 hour tour through this modern production facility. Bus transportation to and from the tour site and a box lunch will also be provided.

Living History Farms
Tour one of the nation's premier agricultural museums, dedicated to interpreting changes in Midwestern agriculture and rural life from 1700 to the present. Re-created sites include a 1700 Ioway Indian settlement, an 1850 farm, a 1900 farm, an 1875 town and an exhibit on farm life from 1900 to 2000. Bus transportation to and from the tour site and a box lunch will also be provided.

Micro Dairies on the Prairie
See how two farms in nearby Woodward, Iowa specialize in dairy production for niche markets in central Iowa. Participants will visit Picket Fence Creamery, an 85 cow herd of pasture-fed Jerseys, where they can see the cows, milking parlor, and sample milk and ice cream. Then visit Northern Prairie Chevre for a tour and a wine and cheese tasting. Bus transportation to and from the tour site and a box lunch will also be provided.

Henry Wallace's Legacy: Pioneer Hi-Bred International
Pioneer, a DuPont company, is one of the largest biotechnology and hybrid seed producers in the world. Tour the headquarters, testing plots, distribution center, and labs at the Johnston campus, located at the site of Henry A. Wallace's farm. Bus transportation to and from the tour site and a box lunch will also be provided.
