Thank you for your interest in the Call for presentations and posters. At this time, we have finalized our slate of presenters. If you are still interested in submitting a poster for consideration, submit your information for consideration to mbgordon@iastate.edu.

The oral and poster sessions will be presented at the 2008 Conference in the topics listed below:

  • Feedstock Development: fundamental plant science; genomics; plant breeding; agronomics; and harvest, storage and transportation systems to provide desired feedstocks for bioprocessing facilities.

  • Bioprocessing: key focus on thermochemical processing and hybrid thermochemical-biological processing systems.

  • Utilization : key focus on co-product utilization work being done in Midwest states -- lignin utilization strategies, enhanced food and food co-products, Federal and State Biopreferred programs, etc.

  • Economics and Policy:
    a. Key features of 2007 Energy Bill and Energy Title of 2008 Farm Bill
    b. Key features of Midwest Governors Association Summit Platform
    c. Availability and cost of biofeedstocks.

  • Human, Social, and Community Development Dimensions of the BioEconomy

  • Climate Change-Bioeconomy Interface : Climate forecasts/factors that will impact biofeedstock production; coupled climate-plant-soil-hydrology systems for biorefinery scenarios.
