Working Session Topics
Biomass Production: How do we develop a reliable supply of biomass feedstock?
Biorefineries: How do we develop and grow biorefineries in Iowa?
Infrastructure and Transportation Logistics: What measures must be taken to make sure that transportation of biomass and byproduct and other infrastructure requirements do not become bottlenecks to the growth of the bioeconomy?
Assuring Sustainability: What measures are required to make sure environmental quality improves as a result of the bioeconomy?
Economic and Social Impact on Communities: How do we make sure that the bioeconomy advances rural development?
Consumer Acceptance: How do we assure that biofuels and other biobased products are readily available and accepted by consumers?
Food, Feed and Fuel: How do we balance the three for optimal growth?
What should Iowa do to create a trained workforce in support of the bioeconomy?
Workshop Goal: Each working session will address two desired outcomes: policy ideas and state investment recommendations.
