The Q/A sessions is offered only one time, from 12-1:30pm CST. The Q/A session will be recorded and posted for you to view/review at a later date.


Research Perspective: Physiology of Appetite and Body Weight Regulation (Heather Leidy, PhD):
Objectives:

Participants will:

  • explore the physiology of appetite, satiety, and subsequent impact on body weight
  • examine the effects of macronutrient composition and meal timing on appetite and satiety
  • understand the role of ghrelin and other appetite-regulating hormones.

Application Perspective:Diet and Environmental Factors Contributing to Obesity (James Hollis, PhD):
Objectives:

Participants will:
  • identify environmental factors that influence body weight regulation
  • examine the role of dietary factors (i.e. temperature, variety, physical state, portion size) on appetite and satiety
  • explore specific body weight control strategies relative to physiology and environmental factors
