Announcing 2009 Iowa Municipal Professionals Institute and Academy Dates
And Scholarship Information
The dates for the 2009 Iowa Municipal Professionals Institute and Academy have been set. The Institute will be held the weeks of July 13-17 and July 20-24, 2009 when courses for clerks and finance certification will be held. The normal Academy courses for re-certification are being held July 22-24, 2009. The registration fee for the Institute will vary by class. Participants will be allowed to register for as many classes as they like during the two-week Institute period. The fee for the three-day Academy will be $170. The location of both the Institute and Academy in 2009 will remain in at the Gateway Hotel and Conference Center in Ames, Iowa.

You are cordially invited to attend the 2009 Iowa Municipal Professionals Academy sponsored by Iowa Municipal Finance Officers Association (IMFOA) and Iowa State University Extension to Communities Office of State and Local Government Programs.
Purpose
The purpose of the continuing education training for city clerks, finance officers, and others is:
- To provide training opportunities for clerks and municipal administrators so they can continue to get useful, up-to-date information that will assist them in their job performance.
- To provide more in-depth training on a range of topics.
- To help qualify interested clerks for membership in the International Institute of Municipal Clerks' Academy.
- Opportunities for personalized interaction with the speakers
- Opportunities to meet clerks from across the state --- make friends and business acquaintances
- Updates on new laws, programs, and technology affecting Iowa municipal government
- Opportunity for credit toward IIMC Academy
- Participate in building professional skills and credentials as a municipal clerk.
