Conference Goal

The goal is to bring together key local, state, federal and private sector traffic safety professionals to discuss important issues, share strategies and highlight successes in the quest to improve traffic safety in our state and the nation.

Objectives

  • To promote Rural Roadway Safety.
  • To define traffic safety as a priority issue for those attending and the public.
  • To provide a forum for discussion among local, state, federal and private sector traffic safety professionals.
  • To offer peer recognition to individuals for recent outstanding contributions to traffic safety.
  • To share the latest developments in highway safety technologies and programs through presentations and demonstrations.
  • To highlight and share successful traffic safety initiatives and programs.

Conference Details

  • The 2012 conference will be held at the Sioux City Convention Center -- Sioux City, Iowa.
  • Conference participants will book their hotel rooms at the same time they register for the conference eliminating the need to contact the hotel.

  • As always, the agenda is comprised of great workshops and educational sessions covering a variety of traffic safety issues of importance to all conference participants.

Traffic Safety Promotional Items Exhibit/Contest

  • Bring your traffic safety promotional items to the conference. We will have an Exhibit Booth to display them. Attendees will have the opportunity to Vote on their favorite items and, during the Luncheon on Day 2, the agency with winning item will receive a Prize!

There Oughta Be A Law!

  • At the conference registration table, attendees will have an opportunity to submit written ideas for laws they would like to see passed by the Iowa General Assembly. Staff will collate the ideas and, at the start of the session, attendees will vote on which proposals merit discussion. Then an open discussion will take place on the most worthy proposals submitted. This is intended to be a grass roots exercise in identifying critical issues in traffic safety that could be addressed by legislation.
