The Iowa State University Organic Agriculture Program Announces:

The 9th Annual Iowa Organic Conference

The United States market for organic products reached $21 billion in 2008. The demand for organic grains and produce continues to exceed supply and growers everywhere are encouraged to consider the potential for organic production. Come hear from experts in the field!

This year's Iowa Organic Conference will include sessions on:

Transitioning to Organic Farming
Marketing Organic Produce
Building Carbon in Your Soil
Government Programs for Organic

This year's keynote speaker will be Jerry DeWitt, Director for the Leopold Center for Sustainable Agriculture. Jerry will be retiring in January after 37 years of service to sustainable and organic agriculture in Iowa. His experiences with organic farmers in Iowa, the United States and the world, portrayed in pictures and readings, have inspired many. Join us in thanking Jerry for all his efforts in helping to start the ISU Organic Agriculture Program and promoting Organic in Iowa!

A trade show of organic products and services will be held during the conference with time for visiting. Our all-organic, four-course lunch will include delicious organic products from Iowa and the Midwest.
