Each fall and spring, the Department of World Languages and Cultures offers Iowa State University faculty, staff, students, and members of the Ames community the opportunity to study foreign languages in a non-credit format. These short courses aim to provide basic and intermediate language instruction with emphasis on the cultural context in which the languages are spoken. The goal for many participants is to learn the language in order to facilitate travel and research abroad.
**Some course materials are provided by the instructor; purchase of a textbook may be recommended or required in addition to the registration fee.
Look for additional information at the World Languages and Cultures website at www.language.iastate.edu in January for new short courses being offered for spring 2008.
