"Over the past five years, the Iowa Division of Persons with Disabilities has had the pleasure to use the services of the Iowa State University Conference Services in organizing and implementing the Annual Youth Leadership Forum for High School Students with Disabilities. This forum has been a success for so many of Iowa’s young leaders, in part, because of the focus and commitment of your staff.

I vividly remember one incident, during a surprise rainstorm, where we needed to get from Friley Hall to the Memorial Union. It was imperative that the students arrive on time for the program and to meet up with their parents. It was also necessary that they not get wet due to the nature of some of their disabilities and the accommodations that they use to get around. Upon my request, your staff quickly contacted Cy-Ride, established the number of busses and the accommodations needed, set up the pick-up and drop off areas and staffed them accordingly, and the entire group of about 50 staff and students arrived to the final program, dry and on time.

This is only one example of the type of service and commitment that our Forum has enjoyed every year while at Iowa State University. Jody, you and your staff should be commended on the attention to detail and the focus toward individualizing programs that you offer your clients."
